The Road to Re-opening: Members Preview Week

This week has been a quietly momentous one at the Gallery as staff have returned to their newly-distanced desks – many for the first time in three long months – and collectively taken on the many tasks of preparing the Gallery for a safe reopening.

As we welcome a new season with our featured exhibition, Soundings: An Exhibition in Five Parts, we are delighted to recognize the exceptional support of our Members by offering exclusive priority viewing of the exhibition next week from 23-26 June before we open to the wider public.

For the safety of our visitors and to maintain physical distancing, we have set three viewing sessions per day, with each session accommodating up to eight people. Each session includes an introduction to the exhibition from our curatorial and/or public programming staff.

Before you arrive, here are a few things you may want to know:

  • Admission is still free thanks to Sun Life Financial
  • Physical distancing is encouraged with floor markings
  • We recommend and encourage wearing face masks during your visit

All you need to do is RSVP with your first, second and third choice of Day (June 23, 24, 25, or 26) and Time Slot (10:30-11:30, 1:30-2:30, or 3:30-4:30) to our new Development Officer, Leah Caravan, whom you may have already met in her previous role as our Visitor Services and Volunteer Coordinator. You may contact her by phone at 519-579-5860 x221 or email at lcaravan@kwag.on.ca. Please wait to receive confirmation of your scheduled date and time before marking your calendar in ink!

“On behalf of all of us at KWAG, we are grateful to you, our membership, for continuing to support us during this challenging time,” says Shirley Madill, our Executive Director. “Thank you. We would not have made it this far without you.”
