Virtual Interpretation Training Session | Thursday 8 October

Registration is closed for this event
A free online training session in art interpretation as part of our Seniors Supporting Seniors program

Ernane Cortet's Noah's Arc is a colourful pointilist folk painting of an arc surrounded by a field of paired animals and decorative leavesJoin us for a Virtual Interpretation Training session for older adults with artist and educator Catherine Mellinger. As KWAG shifts the methods by which we reach our audiences, we are excited to build a series of videos that feature thoughtful interpretations of artworks from our Permanent Collection by our incredible team of volunteers. These video interpretations will highlight one inspiring artwork of your choosing from the Gallery’s Permanent Collection and, with help from both KWAG Education and Curatorial staff, be the feature of a brief, informative video.

During the training session, Catherine will provide you with an outline for creating your own interpretive scripts, and guide you through the structure of the interpretation she created for Ernane Cortat’s Noah’s Ark, currently on view in By Your Own Stars. The interpretive skills covered in this workshop are a strong foundation for anyone interested in leading tours through exhibitions or collections.
