My purpose of this piece is to create a relaxing feeling emerging from being closed off. It is about finding a way out when you feel like the four walls around you are closing in. The building and the vine contrast each other, working as opposites but still holding onto each other, finding bliss or common ground where you would never have imagined it. The structure and vine complement each other colour wise, but also in how they are built; the vine is flowy and free, whilst the building is solid and strong. They both support each other. The building allows the vine to grow, and with the vine, the building can reach heights it has never experienced (knowing your higher self but still remaining grounded in the world surrounding). They coexist with each other: the building can exist without the vine but it is better because of it, and the vine can easily overtake the building but instead of expanding down, it grows upwards. My intent is for my viewer to understand that there will always be better, to know that for something to flourish and grow there needs to be support and encouragement.
