"The artwork that I created correlates to the theme Rework in multiple ways. When I was first tasked with creating a self-portrait without using my own face, I began to brainstorm everything that represented me. I ended up with a plethora of ideas and in the initial plan of my design I wanted to add as many of those elements in it as possible. However, when I started on my piece I quickly realized how crowded it would end up so I took out some major things. I wanted to represent my love of reading with a book mark, but since it was so large and in the centre of my original plan, I then changed it because I wanted the photos to be the main focus instead. Other things, like the colour of the journal, presented a struggle to get right. After multiple attempts at repainting it, I then decided I was content with the outcome. With all of these large and small changes, I was able to rework my original plan into the piece it is now."
