"When coming up with ideas for a new painting, I often turn to my sketchbook, which I like to keep full of ideas as they come to me. For this painting, I chose to revisit some of my old ideas in my sketchbook. When doing so, I found three ideas that I hadn't gotten to paint yet during my art classes: a flower bouquet, a ballerina, and a landscape with a sunset. After doing this, I couldn't decide on just one idea, so I made up a Surrealist inspired concept, revisitng and combining all three ideas into one composition."
