(The two characters are the same person, just in two different personality types)
I got this idea around Bell Let's Talk Day. When people develop something like depression, lots of people tend to hide that because they may feel ashamed, or because it's not a common topic among people. The mask on the characters is a face that they show to the people around them. The mask could also be a label that other people give to them, while in different circumstances they could be a completely different person. The masks on the two characters depict how other people see them, the person on the left side is could be an introvert and may only show their charisma when they're alone. The person on the right side could be an extrovert and show only positive feelings around others while when they're alone they don't show many external signs of positivity.
