Say hello to your new stitched companion! In Hello, Dolly! you’ll conjure up a one-of-a-kind magical friend through the art of sculptural fabric dollmaking. Using reclaimed and repurposed materials, we’ll transform old scraps into enchanted beings full of personality and spirit.
Using hand-stitching, soft sculpture techniques, and your own creativity, you’ll create a doll of your own to take home. This enchanting workshop will be a playful space where DIY meets spell-craft, and every stitch is a little bit of magic!
Alisa McRonald is an award-winning contemporary textile artist creating work that celebrates fairytales, folklore, and queerness with a vintage/kitsch/pop lens. Alisa has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Drey Gallery (Toronto, 2024), the Toronto Reference Library, the Interior Design Show Prototype Exhibition, and the Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener + Area (CAFKA, 2023), Craft Ontario (2022), and the Drake Hotel (Toronto, 2021).
