Together, we will craft a striking banner that captures the beauty and diversity of the authentic experience while fostering a spirit of support and unity for everyone on this journey.

Expressions 50: Foresight Opening Reception, 1:00pm - 3:00pm

For 50 years, Expressions has showcased student artwork from the Waterloo Region, highlighting the perspectives and experiences of young artists in our community. This year, artists explore their community through an intergenerational lens, sharing their dreams for the future while also acknowledging the past. Through their work, we gain insight into the boundless potential we have to create the world we wish to inhabit, rather than the one we might otherwise inherit.

Opening remarks at 1:30pm

Last Day of A Broken Planet

Curated by Jennifer Bullock

Drawing on the KWAG Permanent Collection, A Broken Planet builds on the themes of SOS: A Story of Survival, Part III – The Planet by looking at ways that environmental harm can be found in the collection. Featuring the industrial devastation unfolding before Edward Burtynsky’s camera lens, the exhibition uses aesthetic and compositional beauty as a way to approach difficult subjects that are otherwise much easier to look away from.
