Culture Talks continues conversations between artists, architects, designers, city builders and urbanists, shining a light on exemplary buildings, public art projects, placemaking and the public realm. 2026 delves deeper into social infrastructure.

Nate Storring has spent his career engaging the public in the world of urban design, planning, and policy. Today, he is a Co-Executive Director at Project for Public Spaces, an international nonprofit that co-creates outstanding gathering places with the people who use them every day, and supports public space champions through convening, training, and advocacy. He oversees the Placemaking Program at Project for Public Spaces and, over the past decade, has helped launch the International Placemaking Week conference, which brings together over 600 placemaking practitioners every two years; designed a grantmaking program that has transformed over 20 public spaces across the United States; and produced numerous books and guides on stewarding public spaces in partnership with communities. He lives in Lambertville, NJ, with his wife, daughter, and two cats.
