Artist Talk with Stephen Andrews

Artist Talk with Stephen Andrews

Thursday, 30 November at 7:00 p.m.

Free – All Welcome

We are pleased to announce an Artist Talk with Stephen Andrews, one of the featured artists in our current exhibition, SOS: A Story of Survival, Part II – The Body.

Andrews will ruminate on the evolution of ideas in the works included in SOS, and will question how meaning and interpretation can change over time. He will also be thinking out loud about the necessity of political engagement in an artistic practice.

This is also the launch event for a whole weekend centered around Andrews’ work in SOS as KWAG participates in the 35th annual Day With(out) Art, which began in 1989 in response to the worsening AIDS crisis at the time. Today, there is still no cure or vaccine for individuals who are HIV-positive and 38 million people are living with HIV and AIDS across the world. 25% of these individuals still do not have access to effective medication.

We will be marking the Day With(out) Art on 1 + 2 December, including a free film screening. Visit this page for more information about our programming.
