What does it mean to be interconnected through issues and experiences?

$80 + HST | Ages 7-12

In this studio class, artists will take inspiration from Billy Gauthier: Sila and Kathleen Daly: Northern Exposures to wrestle with issues they are seeing in their communities and across the country, including food scarcity, mental health, loss of wildlife, and how we view the unknown. Artists will learn to communicate their feelings and understandings on this topics using visual language.

  • Class one—Creatures (loss of wildlife) soap stone and mixed media for habitats
  • Class two—Fake or Food (food scarcity) clay sculpture
  • Class three— on my brain (mental health) clay portrait with topology
  • Class four— Dichotomous Landscape (view the unknown/mind’s eye)—sketching/painting
