Ignite your students’ creativity with KWAG 2 Go! Artists and works from our fall exhibitions provide inspiration for students to create their own masterpieces using the techniques of a diverse range of artists.

1 hour | $8 + HST per student, 15 participants minimum

Bring a KWAG Artist Educator into your classroom for a single visit based on either of the two classroom lessons outlined in our three-part program below. Teachers may also contact our Education Coordinator to customize this visit to suit your classroom.

Three Part Program

Expand on your Single Classroom Visit with a Tour and Studio Workshop at the Gallery.

Pre-Visit: Spectacular Stained Glass 

Students will be introduced to Emily Pelstring: The Passion of the Hedge-Rider and create their own art inspired by the tradition of stained-glass windows. Once each student has completed their artwork, the class will combine their works to create one large stained-glass window. This program explores themes of identity and symbolism, as well as community and belonging.

Junior – Visual Art, Social Studies, Mathematics 
Intermediate – Visual Art, History and Geography 

Post-Visit: SOS Survival Supplies 

This program explores questions such as ‘What do you need to survive?’ and ‘What can you not live without?’ Designed to complement SOS: A Story of Survival, Part I—The Image, students will make their own survival supplies representing objects that are meaningful to them.
