Portfolio Development

This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of developing an artist portfolio and crafting an exhibition proposal for non-profit galleries, artist-run centers, and community art spaces. Participants are encouraged to submit a draft exhibition proposal in advance if desired.

About the Facilitator

Matthew Carver is a professor at the University of Waterloo in Fine Arts, and is represented in Canada by the Christopher Cutts Gallery. He has had solo exhibitions in Berlin, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Canada, as well as many prestigious international group exhibitions from London, to Berlin, Dubai and throughout Asia. Matthew Carver is a painter who often questions "if something pleasing and beautiful can shift, nudge, and hint at something darker and possibly foreboding". Matthew currently has an exhibition, Hyperstition on at the Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto that ends on February 22, featuring new paintings and over a 100 mixed media panels created for his first graphic novel, Koi Cafe Time Slip.
