An object can carry associations to a time, a place, an event, or even an idea. When we see those objects, those associations come to mind – we remember that time or place, event, or idea. A collection of objects is a collection of stories.

Of course, a single object may carry multiple associations and will evoke different memories and stories for different people. It is in the telling that we share both knowledge and experience. By telling our stories, we reach out to one another to foster community.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery collects and cares for thousands of objects. In doing so, we learn the many stories they hold, and we add some of our own. With this exhibition, we invite you to view some of the objects from our Collection and share in the stories that they carry.
