Welcome the warm season with a relaxing and inspiring outdoor painting experience at KWAG. Guided by artist and educator Candice Leyland, participants will explore the fundamentals of en plein air painting with watercolors: working from life to capture light, atmosphere, and the beauty of KWAG’s Sculpture Garden and the Garden of Resilience. All materials will be provided.

Meet the Artist:

Candice Leyland is a passionate and award-winning arts educator and watercolour artist based in Kitchener-Waterloo. With a background in Studio Art from the University of Guelph and a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Candice brings both technical expertise and heartfelt enthusiasm to every class she teaches. Her vibrant and ethereal paintings—ranging from florals and landscapes to portraits and figure drawing—reflects her deep love for the creative process. Candice’s teaching is driven by the belief that art has the power to connect, inspire, and transform—and she brings that energy into every classroom she enters.
