Feast for the Senses 21 features Indigenous chef, educator, and FoodZen founder Destiny Moser. Inspired by Rosalie Favell’s Belonging and Boring Earth: spontaneous gift, Moser’s menu reflects connections between food, culture, identity, and land, celebrating seasonal ingredients and the stories that nourish community and belonging.

About the Chef:

Chef Destiny Moser is the Founder and Executive Chef of FoodZen, a personal chef and prepared meal company based in Waterloo Region. Through FoodZen, she helps busy families, professionals, and seniors enjoy wholesome, locally crafted meals made with seasonal ingredients and a whole-food approach. As a member of the Rainy River First Nations, Destiny's culinary philosophy is grounded in respect for the land, seasonal abundance, and the belief that food should nourish both people and communities. She works closely with local farmers and producers to celebrate Canadian ingredients while reducing reliance on highly processed foods.

She is also the Founder and Executive Chef of Cedar Spoon, created in partnership with Bingemans, an Indigenous catering and culinary education initiative that celebrates the traditional foods of Canada while creating opportunities for learning, dialogue, and reconciliation through food. This fall, Destiny is expanding that vision with the launch of Rooted Path, a line of thoughtfully crafted pantry staples inspired by Indigenous food philosophies. Beginning with handcrafted spice blends and growing into sauces, broths, and everyday pantry essentials, Rooted Path is designed to help people cook with confidence, embrace seasonal ingredients, reduce food waste, and reconnect with the food on their plate.

Whether preparing a family meal, teaching a cooking class, or developing new products, Chef Destiny believes food is more than nourishment; it is a way to honor culture, strengthen local food systems, and inspire a more thoughtful way of cooking and eating.
