Family Sunday | August 2021

Enjoy KWAG Family Sunday all month long with your loved ones at home! Our art activities are now being offered virtually to support the safety and well-being of our community. A new collection of art-making demonstrations and reading recommendations, to view and download, will be launched at the beginning of every month. 

August 2021: Belong Together

For August Family Sunday, we are excited to invite you into the Gallery now that KWAG is open to the public. 

This month’s activities are inspired by Belong Together, a collaborative community project. Visit KWAG throughout the month of August to pick up your Belong Together tile. Decorate your tile at home, and return it to the Gallery so it can be included in this growing collaborative artwork.

Our first Belong Together painting video for August shows you a fun hard-edge painting technique you can use to personalize your tile:

In our second video for Belong Together, we introduce a variety of mark-making methods and encourage you to experiment with thick and thin paint, and explore a range of techniques including stamping and splattering.

This video will be available for viewing starting Sunday 29 August.
