For 50 years, Expressions has showcased student artwork from the Waterloo Region, highlighting the perspectives and experiences of young artists in our community. This year, artists explore their community through an intergenerational lens, sharing their dreams for the future while also acknowledging the past. Through their work, we gain insight into the boundless potential we have to create the world we wish to inhabit, rather than the one we might otherwise inherit.

Calling all student artists from the Waterloo Region Catholic, Public, and Independent Schools! The Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery is excited to announce the fiftieth edition of our annual student art exhibition: Expressions 50: Foresight!
For half a century, Expressions has showcased artwork from student artists in Waterloo Region, highlighting their unique perspectives of the world around us and experiences within it. This year, we invite artists to explore their community through an intergenerational lens, sharing their dreams for the future while also reflecting on the past. Through your artwork, we hope to gain insight into the limitless potential we have to create the world we want to inhabit, rather than the one we may inherit.
Registration for Expressions 50 opens on Friday, 31 January. For more information, please contact Desarée Rosskopf, Public Programs Coordinator, at drosskopf@kwag.on.ca.
The deadline for submissions is 8 March 2025.
