"This artwork responds to the theme Rework/Revisit because it captures a very impactful moment in my life, relating to my eye disorder. I reworked and revisited this event through art, to share my experience. This drawing illustrates one of the eye testing procedures I underwent for RP. I was placed in a dark room, with eye patches over my eyes. The only light source in the room was a red light; however, I could not actually see anything while my eyes were covered. My little sister joined me in the dark to keep me company for the 45 minutes or so I had to wait in there. She was quite fearful while she waited in this room with me, but I am so appreciative of her for asking to stay by my side. I chose for the composition of this piece to be close-up to effectively revisit the emotions that were present, through my sister's face during this time. Additionally, the artwork was drawn on black paper to share the darkness of the room. I have revisited a powerful memory I hold of my journey with Retinitis Pigmentosa through this illustration."
