"This painting connects to the theme of Rework/Revisit in the way that common items are expressed to audiences in a new and unique way. I was inspired by Rene Magritte's piece, Personal Values, as well as a few other surreal pieces I looked at while preparing my design. Combining ideas I saw in these pieces, I added my own personal perspective to it, choosing to use items I typically use, such as makeup, unique lights and plants. There was certainly a community aspect to this piece of art because of the impact other artists had in inspiring my ideas, surrealism being a new concept for me. The creative aspect was also prevalent because I thought intentionally about ways I wanted to use these new ideas in a way personal to me."
